      FROM THE AUTHOR

      Ted DesMaisons

Thank you for coming to Playful Mindfulness™. That you’re here tells me something’s stirring in you. Some sense of hope or possibility. Or some rising curiosity.

You might also be wondering what I’m all about.

      Here’s the deal.

I’ve long had a love for the insights that come from bridging disparate worlds.

For example: I went to Stanford’s business school and Harvard’s Divinity School. I taught religious studies in  a way that honored the wisdom of multiple traditions. I’ve lived on the east and west coasts.

Over the last decade, I’ve directed that passion to wed the traditions of mindfulness and improvisation. More specifically, I:

      • trained to teach mindfulness to adults and teens with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Florence Meleo-Meyers, and others—some of the sharpest minds and biggest hearts in the field.
      • studied, taught and performed improvisation internationally, including at BATS Improv in San Francisco and the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, Alberta.
      • spent two intensive months learning with renowned, UK-based acting, voice and presence coach Patsy Rodenburg.

These days, I teach Playful Mindfulness and voice and presence courses through Stanford University’s Continuing Studies program and conduct group trainings as the founder and principal of ANIMA Learning. I co-host the Monster Baby Podcast too (see below for more info). And, oh yeah: I wrote a book.

Every chance I get to combine mindfulness and improvisation brings me great joy—because I’ve seen the combination benefit countless others like you.

Come along for the ride and I bet you, too, will find more ease, more joy, and more adventure. You’ll give—and you’ll get—more YES!

Thanks again for visiting. I’m eager to support you on your path.

      Warmly,
      Ted
